Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has always had a special relationship with Spain on a family level. And right now, part of his close family are living just outside of Barcelona. In fact, this is where the first contacts took place in January about a possible move to the Camp Nou. It was made clear during these talks that the striker would jump at the chance to make the move to Barça.
Sources close to these talks have denied that Barça's plan is to unsettle the footballer ahead of the summer. Yet there's no doubt Aubameyang loves Barcelona and would be happy to sign a long-term deal there as he wants to win titles, as well as being closer to his family.

In the most recent conversations, Barça made it clear that he's a player they like a lot but he isn't their first option and he must be patient. Aubameyang is willing to wait although he'd prefer to have his future sorted out before June. The coronavirus outbreak has caused a lot of things to be put on hold but over the next few days Barça will need to make a decision.
