Paco Alcácer searching for first Barcelona goal against Espanyol

Paco Alcacer has been picked in Barcelona's Catalan Super Cup squad and is looking to find the net for the first time

Juan Manuel Díaz

Paco Alcacer is one of a few Barcelona first team players in the squad for the Catalan Super Cup on Tuesday. The forward is looking for his first goal in Blaugrana.

Barcelona’s calendar has made many of the squad tired and Luis Enrique has rested a big chunk of his first team, including most of his star players.

However, called up are Masip, Mathieu, Denis, André Gomes, Arda Turan, Paco Alcácer and Aleix Vidal, although the latter will not play because of discomfort in his adductor.

For Alcacer, recently arrived at Barcelona as the fourth striker behind the MSN, he will be looking to get some goals in his boots after a few substitute appearances and only a couple of starts.

His debut was difficult, against Alaves, and he was also disappointing against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League. Here he can  show Luis Enrique his qualities as an alternative to Luis Suarez.
