The presence of Leo Messi for Sunday’s Spanish Super Cup final is still unknown, but there is a moderate optimism coming through from the club.
Messi did not take part in the semi-final against Real Sociedad on Wednesday, which Barca won on penalties.
He is not ruled out for the final against Real Madrid or Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, which could be the first title of the season. The coming hours will determine that. Barca are back home and Messi will test the affected area of his leg on Friday at the training ground.

Barca will train at 11am on Friday and then on Saturday they will work at La Cartuja in Seville, where the final is being held, at 6pm. Messi will be part of the trip and he could yet feature in the game.
