It's official. Real Sociedad announced on Thursday that midfielder Martin Zubimendi has signed a new contract with the club until 2027.
It is a blow for Barcelona because Zubimendi is one of their targets to replace Sergio Busquets.

Martin Zubimendi signed a new contract with Real Sociedad this morning. The man from San Sebastian has extended his relationship with the club of his life until the end of the 2026-27 season.
He is "very happy" with his renewal: “Being from San Sebastian there is no better place to continue growing, the project is very ambitious. I'm very happy and feeling the affection of the fans.”
Excitement and ambition are the two words that he highlights: “We are ambitious and it shows, the fans are too and they are behind us. I'm very happy."
