Having left Barça behind, for now, Nico González is totally focused on his new life in Valencia. The Galician wants to make the most of his loan spell, and said in his farewell message, "this is a see you later". He is clear that he will return to Barça and find success, and that remains his priority. For that, he needs to keep playing, and Gennaro Gattuso's project is the solution. The Italian coach has been key in convincing him, and the youngster has his absolute confidence

Nico will make his debut this Sunday at Mestalla, in front of new fans, against Girona (19:30). "I hope to have some minutes next Sunday. I've already spoken to Gattuso and am feeling very good". Nico is in top form, as he showed in this preseason. The training and the friendlies at Barça have been the perfect preparation for him. All that remains is adapting to the new style of his teammates.

The Valencia squad is rather depressed by the departure of Guedes and the lack of big-name signings, so Nico's arrival has been a blessing. Nico, Samu Castillejo and Samuel Lino will be the new faces for the season. Along with Carlos Soler, they will be the driving force behind Valencia this year.
