Pedri Gonzalez will be registered with Barcelona's first team for the upcoming season and has been handed the No.16 shirt at Camp Nou.
Pedri, 17, joined the club from Las Palmas this summer and the fact he's been assigned to the senior squad means he will not be able to play for Barça B in the third division.
The announcement comes as Barça make their final preparations ahead of the new season on Sunday against Villarreal at Camp Nou.
Barça have been inundated with loan offers for the teenager but have turned them all down. He has done preseason with the first team and new coach Ronald Koeman has been impressed.
