The decision to play Barcelona's Champions League game against Napoli on March 18 behind closed doors due to coronavirus has affected 5,000 Napoli fans who had purchased tickets for the Camp Nou game.

However, they will now not be able to watch their side in action in Catalonia in the last 16 second-leg match - the first-leg in Naples ended 1-1.

The cost of the tickets was €70 and has been returned to the fans but, following the example of the Atalanta fans, who were in the same situation for their team's game at Valencia, they have decided to donate their refunds.

The money will go to the Cotugno hospital's efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus in Italy, which is the centre of the outbreak in Europe.

Napoli fans are also working on getting money back for flights and hotels. Airlines are expected to refund their fares after flights between Spain and Italy were shelved.

Italy is currently under lockdown as they grapple to stop covid-19 spreading further throughout the country.
