The German goalkeeper now heads to Russia to play in the Confederations Cup with his country. Ter Stegen's request before signing his deal was for goalkeeping coach De La Fuente to stay, as you can read about here.
The stopper's new deal means he will be at the club until age 30. He has a 180m release fee clause.
