Marc-Andre ter Stegen played his 250th game at San Mames for Barcelona and he spoke about it on the club website.

“It’s a spectacular number, I am very happy with the performance I’ve given Barca until now,” said the German stopper.

“I hope there are many more games to come, I really want to keep adding to the tally.”

He is already among the top five keepers to play for Barca in terms of appearances.

Ahead of Ter Stegen lie Victor Valdes (535 games), Andoni Zubiarreta (410), Antoni Ramallets (387) and Salvador Sadurni (332).

Ter Stegen said: “I’m in the top five with other legends, I’m proud to be part of this. It’s important to think about the present, I renewed my contract recently because I want to stay here.”

He has 176 wins, 44 draws and 30 defeats in his 250 games. He has kept 105 clean sheets, shipping 237 goals. He’s also provided two assists - for Suarez v Getafe and Griezmann v Mallorca, both last season.
