Jasper Cillessen has spoken positively with clear intentions about his move to Barcelona and the upcoming battle he faces with Marc-Andre ter Stegen as the pair jostle to become the Catalan club's firm choice in goal.
After Ajax's loss to Rostov in the Champions League play-off on Wednesday - his final game for the club - the 27-year-old revealed his optimism over the transfer.
"Competing with Ter Stegen? I like the challenge, it's good to challenge for the no.1 spot," Cillessen said. "Barça play 60 games per year so there are certainly opportunities [to play].
"With Ajax I had to compete with Kenneth Vermeer and I won the duel - I'll try again [with Barça]."
Cillessen travelled straight from Russia to Barcelona on Thursday to complete his medical and sign his contract with the Blaugrana.
