Manchester United back to try and sign Ivan Rakitic from Barca

Solskjaer wants the Croatian as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba

Jordi Gil

Manchester United are knocking on Barcelona’s door for Ivan Rakitic again. The English club made contact three weeks ago, asking about Rakitic and Samuel Umtiti. Barca didn’t seem willing to negotiate but there is new news from Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is restless with the possible sale of Paul Pogba on the table. Madrid and Juve want the Frenchman and Man United will find it hard to keep him.

They want to reinforce their midfield and Rakitic is the chosen one. They presented a 35m euro offer but Barca considered it totally insufficient.

They will not accept a bid under 50m euros for the Croatian.
