There are constant movements around the future of Bernardo Silva, one of the players most wanted by Barcelona this summer but a deal they could not get over the line for several reasons.

The Portuguese playmaker is still very much of interest at Camp Nou, but Manchester City have already made a move to retain him. According to 'Football Insider', the English club have presented him with a renewal offer to extend his contract, which ends in 2025, and to finally bring an end to any type of speculation.

Silva is a regular fixture in Pep Guardiola's team and a fundamental footballer in his game plan. Despite that, he told the club his desire to leave last summer for personal reasons. He would like to leave the Premier League and get closer to Portugal, even knowing that City has fulfilled all his wishes in recent years sportingly and financially.

Silva's agent, Jorge Mendes, told Barça about the midfielder's situation and made his availability clear. The player was even willing to push if, finally, the Blaugrana decided to make a firm offer that would be attractive to all parties. That proposal never arrived last summer and, for now, contact continues.
