Man City optimistic about chances of signing Lionel Messi

Manchester is in a state of shock with Lionel Messi most likely to move to City this summer. They are working on the operation and with more confidence than ever. Sources at City "feel optimistic' about their chances of signing the No 10.

City are staying quiet though, they know it will be a complex deal. "We know that something could happen, but we're staying confident," revealed another source. 

One of the big question mark is whether they will have to pay for him or not. They assume they will, but not his 700m euro clause, but instead a fee of less than 200 million euros.

In England there are suggestions of a swap deal, with Eric Garcia, Angelino and Gabriel Jesus among those linked.
