Malcom won't leave Barcelona unless he gets to choose his next team

The player's agent didn't come to a planned meeting last week after being told should Neymar arrive, Malcom must leave

Malcom's future lies away from Barça but the negotiations to find him a new club have hit a brick wall. The player's agent was expected to meet with the club last week but didn't turn up. The player appears in no rush to leave despite being told that should Neymar's transfer go through, there would be no space for him in the current squad.

The original plan was for Barça to sit down with his agent to go over the options on the table. Despite not playing as much as he expected last season, Malcom is still wanted by Serie A and Premier League sides. This is why Barça hope to sell the Brazilian on for €40m. However the player is adamant he wants to choose his next club, not Barcelona.

Malcom would prefer a season-long loan with an option to make that move permanent. That is what Arsenal are offering at the moment as they don't have the cash to complete a transfer this summer. Barça would prefer to cash in now but all of the clubs willing to match their asking price don't interest Malcom. Both sides are hoping to set up another meeting this week and reach a positive conclusion for everyone.
