It feels inevitable that Lautaro Martinez will one day wear FC Barcelona colours. The interest in the Argentine from inside the Camp Nou is no secret despite never backing up those initial talks with a formal bid. However, Martinez's desire to play for Barça is believed to behind his decision to reject two possible moves to England.
According to the 'Daily Mail', Manchester United and Manchester City enquired about his situation and were both told 'no thanks'.
Martinez is seen as a possible Sergio Aguero replacement at City whereas United need a brand new forward line if they are to become a force in world football again.

Another factor in Barça's favour when it comes to winning the race to sign Martinez is the player's wish to play and train alongside his idol Lionel Messi. His buyout clause stands at €111m, so he wouldn't come cheap either. Martinez has scored 16 goals so far this season.
