Lautaro Martínez, who scored for Inter during their defeat to Barcelona in midweek, didn't miss the chance to praise Lionel Messi and make it clear he'd love to move to the Catalan club one day.

"It's tough to beat Barça with Messi on the pitch," he told ESPN. "We're talking about the best player in the world. You can't give him the smallest advantage because he will take the game away from you.2

In Italy, the 22-year-old forward is regularly linked with Barça and it's known that the Spanish champions follow his progress with interest.

Neither Lautaro nor those close to him hide his desire to play for the club one day. One of his agents, Carlos Yagüe, has said "it would be great to see Lautaro alongside Messi in Barcelona."

His contract with Inter runs until 2023 but at 22 he has a huge future ahead of him. His brilliant performance at Barça has returned the attention to him.
