Josep Maria Bartomeu confirmed the news we all knew and said that Ronald Koeman will be the next Barcelona coach.
“If there is no change then we will announce Koeman as our next coach and he will lead this team and these players forward with a different type of project, led by a coach who all Barca fans know,” said Bartomeu.
“We are betting on him because we know him very well, we know how he thinks and how his teams play, but also because of his experience and as he was in Johan’s ‘Dream Team’ he knows Barca and how we understand football."
Asked why Koeman didn't come in January, he added: "Koeman told us he had a responsibility with Holland and he could not leave before the Euros. Now he told us in the pandemic era he doesn't know if the Euros will happen and he can break his deal with the national team. His dream was to be Barca coach and now it's happening."
On Setien, Bartomeu added: "I'm grateful to him for coming halfway through the season, it was brave to take control in January. The pandemic, confinement, did us a lot of damage and that hurt him. (I'm not) disappointed, no, he did very good things."
