The footballer is adamant his time at Barça is over whilst the club insist he's under contract until 2021. Leo's father and agent, Jorge Messi, continues to work on potential solutions to the matter.
Jorge met with Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu on Wednesday but that meeting didn't resolve anything. This Friday morning he was spotted meeting with Leo's legal team. Unlike on previous occasions, Jorge didn't utter a single word to the waiting horde of media.
Messi must decide in the next few days what he wants to do. Does he continue pushing for an exit - and a potential legal battle - or does he fall in line and join up with his teammates to start planning under Ronald Koeman? Jorge Messi and Bartomeu are expected to meet again soon.
