Pep Guardiola doesn't want to get involved with the electoral process at Barcelona. A few days ago he spoke encouragingly about Ronald Koeman's project at the club and on Friday he made it clear that a return to Camp Nou is not on his mind at the moment.
Speaking at the City Football Academy ahead of this weekend's game against Sheffield United, Guardiola said: "I'm incredibly happy here. I'm delighted to be happy here and hopefully I can do a good job here this season to stay longer."
One of the candidates for the presidency at Barcelona, Victor Font, said earlier this week in an interview with Sky Sport that he would be delighted to have Guardiola back a the club one day.
CITY 2021
Pep's contract with City runs until 2021. The club have not hidden their desire to extend his deal, although the Catalan coach says he wants to earn a renewal with good results on the pitch.
However, his comments on Friday once again reveal the respect and commitment he has towards the project at City, which he's been part of now since 2016.
