Gerard Pique was a protagonist in a gala in Madrid where he was awarded one of Esquire's men of the year prizes. He spoke about varioius topics.
"We weren't afraid, but the possibility was there and we spoke about it," said Pique, when asked about the chances of Neymar going to join Real Madrid, as Messi pointed out in his interview with RAC1. IN the end the Brazilian stayed at PSG.
Pique also spoke about his recent comments where he accused the board at using the media to get stories out. Messi seemed to indicate he didn't like Pique's comments but the defender ended that chatter.
"I choose what I say and don't say. Messi is the captain and he has his discourse. I'd say he's the person I best get on with in the squad and I think we have an aligned discourse."
