Santos FC have confirmed the contract extension of Gabriel Barbosa and the deal will be completed in the coming days.
The 19-year-old striker is a transfer target of Barça, with the Catalan club holding a preferential option to buy the forward in the future. His previous contract with Santos expired in 2019.
With this new deal, Gabriel will become one of the highest paid players at Santos. The Brazilian's future with the Blaugrana has been put to bed, for now, and he won't depart for Catalonia in this transfer window.
Gabriel is part of Brazil's team for the Rio Olympic Games and will play alongside Neymar and Rafinha.
