Aleix Vidal’s situation at FC Barcelona is starting to become very uncomfortable. The player has begun to notice that what happened last season, when he virtually didn’t play for two months, could happen again. He took his axing from the squad to face Celtic well, but missing out again against Leganes was painful, especially seeing Rafinha used as a right wing-back in his stead.
Aleix is thinking about a solution which could see him leave in the winter transfer window, either on loan or as a permanent sale. The player had put this idea to one side for a while, even though Inter Milan and Napoli were both interested. Vidal spoke with Luis Enrique this week but the conversation didn’t bear much fruit, as exemplified by his axing from the Leganes squad.
Continually left out of the side, Robert Fernandez will have to evaluate the exit routes for the player. Aleix has a contract until 2020, and it would be easier to loan him out until June then look at his case again.
