Ernesto Valverde was visibly uncomfortable when asked several questions about barcelona's new documentary, Matchday, during his press conference on Saturday.
The documentary goes behind the scenes on Barça's campaign last season, revealing moments inside the dressing room and from the players' personal lives.
However, neither Valverde or anyone from his squad attended the premiere on Thursday night. Asked why that was, he said: "I don't know why no one went. When you're invited, you can choose if you go or not. I didn't go. What is this? An interrogation?"
In addition, the coach did not want to speak about the clip where Gerard Pique explains to the owner of Rakuten that the players would have gone to a party in New York with or without their coach's consent.
"I have not seen the documentary so I don't know what to say (about that)," Valverde said. "When your dad's told you not to go to a party, have you never gone (to the party)?"
COMMON SENSE
Valverde also revealed that the idea for the documentary came from the club and explained that not everything that was filmed made the final cut.
"It's not a question for me," he said when asked about the selection process. "The club decided to do it to let the fans get closer. There are things that are in it and other things which are not. It's common sense. There are things we don't want to be seen because they're private."
