Memphis Depay says he cannot promise he will remain at Lyon until the end of the season with Barcelona still insisting on his signing.
Depay is out of contract next summer and Barça, after failing to sign him this summer, will make another move for him in January.
The injury to Ansu Fati has enhanced their need for a new forward and Ronald Koeman has made Depay, who he worked with as Netherlands boss, his No.1 target.
"It's a question many are asking," Depay said about finishing his deal with Lyon. "But I am not going to make promises that I am not sure I can fulfill.
"I think Lyon have to take advantage of my presence here now. I have to take advantage of being here. And that's what I try to do every day. You can ask those around me: I like training and being positive all the time."
