Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele didn't go into train voluntarily last week, when the players were given some time off, but because he was following a plan given to him by coach Ronald Koeman, according to the journalist Lluis Canut on Esport 3.

Canut also revealed the reason for the extra sessions: "It was not a punishment, but sessions to make up for training sessions from the start of the season when he was coming back from injury and not able to do the necessary work."

In that sense, the journalist feels that "if this is the first step in Koeman getting Dembele back to his best, then it will be very welcome."

Dembele was at the Ciudad Deportiva last week on Thursday and Friday when those not on international duty had been given some time off.

It was interpreted as the France international wanting to work hard to get into shape and earn his place in Koeman's team having failed to feature in each of the last two games.

Don't forget that Dembele is just coming back from a long-term injury and was also close to joining Manchester United during the transfer window.
