FC Barcelona have announced that Philippe Coutinho will wear the No.14 shirt this season after returning from his loan at Bayern Munich.

The No.14 shirt was made famous by Johan Cruyff, who wore the number throughout his career as a player for Ajax and the Dutch national team. However, at Barça, due to rules, he had to wear the No.9, but everyone knew he would have preferred the No.14.

As the Barça squad will not be officially closed until Oct. 5, when the transfer window shuts, the makeup of all of the numbers, from 1-25, is not yet known.

The No.9, in fact, is now available after Luis Suarez completed a move to Atletico Madrid this week.

Coutinho wore the No.14 in his first half-season at Camp Nou before switching to the No.7. However, Antoine Griezmann has since taken on that number.
