Josep Vives, FC Barcelona's spokesman, explained the club's decision to sell the naming rights to Camp Nou to raise money for the fight against coronavirus.

The Barça Foundation has been tasked with finding a sponsor for the stadium and investing money into research and more as the world grapples with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Vives said that "Barcelona have the honour of being more than a club" by making the move.

Asked if the conditions for buying the rights to Camp Nou would be the same for any company, in reference to ACS, the company owned by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, Vives ruled nothing out.

"If it could be called ACS Camp Nou?" he answered. "We must be open to any company."

Remember that Barcelona have never sold the naming rights to Camp Nou but had planned to do so to fund the Espai Barça project.
