Chelsea interested in signing Barça's club record signing Coutinho

The English club are keen on a loan with an option to buy

Philippe Coutinho's future is likely to be away from Camp Nou. Barcelona want to save on his wages and the amortisation of his signing and are beginning to field enquiries from clubs interested in the Brazilian.

Chelsea have already been in touch with Barça to ask about the conditions of a loan next season with an option to buy. The English club have also spoken with the player to find out his plans moving forward.

One of Barça's big priorities this summer is to solve the Coutinho situation. The club have talked about the issue and the conclusion is that it will be easiest to loan him -- again -- because no one is willing to pay the 90 million euros asking tag.

Chelsea have offered to take on his salary and the amortisation of the transfer, which is a total of 30 million euros for one season.

Barça feel that now, with football stopped due to coronavirus, a lot of clubs are going to try and do their work ahead of the summer transfer window. Coutinho has a good reputation in the Premier League and could return to England, where he previously played for Liverpool.

Tottenham also moved for him last summer but couldn't reach a favourable agreement with the Catalan club.

Coutinho is liked at Bayern but the German club feel the option to buy -- 110 million euros -- is excessive and won't take it up. They could yet ask for an extension to the loan, though. Inter have also been in touch, although they could only afford a loan on terms favourable to them. Lautaro Martinez could come into play, though.

At the moment, Baça have ruled out bringing Coutinho back to Camp Nou for a second chance, although coach Quique Setien would not be against it.
