Óscar Minguza is currently in the final stages of his recovery from a left thigh injury that he picked up in this summer's Tokyo Olympics. He joined in with parts of various training sessions last week before completing the entire session today (Monday). The absences of Gerard Piqué (injury) and Eric García (suspension) for Sunday's game against Getafe have led Ronald Koeman and his staff to reconsider the player's recovery schedule.
Mingueza picked up two separate injuries during the Olympics: a muscle problem in his right leg in the tournament opener against Egypt, before suffering a left thigh muscle in the quarter final clash against the Ivory Coast.

Barcelona have recently triggered the option to extend the player's contract, which is now due to expire in 2023 and has a release clause of 100 million euros.
