Barcelona, according to the show 'Tot Costa' on Catalunya Ràdio, have the option to unilaterally extend Ansu Fati's by two more years.

Ansu, 17, has been registered with the first team officially this season -- he was technically a B team player last term -- and handed the No.22 shirt.

In addition, that meant his release clause rose to 400 million euros from 170 million that it was before. That change was agreed on Dec. 4, 2019, when he signed his latest deal.

However, from there, per Catalunya Ràdio, there are differences of opinion between agent Jorge Mendes and the club over how long the deal can run for.

According to Barça, they can unilaterally extend his deal, which ends in 2022, until 2024. In contrast, Mendes feels the clause is not valid and his deal ends in 2022.

The contract was not signed under Mendes' watch, though, but his previous agents, when Rodrigo Messi was acting as an adviser to the young star.
