Former FC Barcelona captain, Carles Puyol, has explained the reason behind his decision to turn down the opportunity to work with the club once again.
In an interview with 'The Independent', Puyol said: "Now isn't the right time. Maybe one day but I'm still developing other projects. I strongly believe in education through sport. It's where you can learn empathy, resiliency and the ability to confront adversity."
Puyol also give his thoughts on Victor Valdes early exit from Barça's academy. "I'm not sure about the reasons behind sacking Victor but it isn't easy to work with the youth teams at Barcelona. They focus on results but we should instead care more about coaching our young players."
