FC Barcelona midfielder, Carles Aleña, is in the final stage of his recovery and could be given the green light to return to football after the upcoming international break. The academy star, who underwent surgery on the 7th June, was expected to miss three and a half months of action but he's shortened that timeframe as he wants to get back and help the team as soon possible.
Aleña has been training alongside his teammates over the last few days after recovering ahead of schedule from the injury he suffered on the 2nd June. On that day, playing for the B side against Zaragoza in the final match of the season, the player suffered a serious hamstring injury. He had to fly out to Finland to be operated on by specialists Sakari Orava and Lasse Lempainen.
The player could return just three months later, in the week commencing the 10th September, and be available for the match against Real Sociedad on the 15th. However there's still an option for Aleña, a member of the first team but who still has a shirt number with Barça B, to play with Garcia Pimienta's side first before moving up and becoming an option for Ernesto Valverde.
Aleña signed a new three-year contract with Barça in September 2017, although it'll be extended until 2022 when he is officially promoted to the first team. His buyout clause will also rise to €75m.
He's been at Barcelona since he was 7 years old. Aleña made his first team debut against Hercules on the 30th November, 2016, in a Copa del Rey match. In that same season the youngster played in three LaLiga games.

FC Barcelona will return to training this Monday after having yesterday off following the match against Valladolid on Saturday. In this session, which will also see Jokin Ezkieta be involved, Aleña will train just like everybody else.

This will be the first training session as Barça prepare for the visit of Huesca to the Camp Nou. It'll also be the first time in Huesca's history that they face Barcelona at the Camp Nou in a league match.
