Lionel Messi has purchased a four-star hotel in Sitges, a beach town not far down the coast from Barcelona. According to information in 'Expansion', Messi has paid 30 million euros for the hotel.

The four-star hotel has 77 rooms -- five of which are junior suites and one of which is a superior suite -- and is situated in the second line of buildings from the sea.

There is a swimming pool included on the top floor which you can see the sea from and the price of a room in high season ranges from 250 euros to 300 euros per night.

The establishment will be run by the Majestic Group. It has 300 square meters of lounges, a spa, a terrace with a swimming pool and panoramic views of Sitges beach.

The hotel has been renamed Hotel MiM Sitges and is located on Avenida Sofía, 12. The building was built in 2013 and belonged to a local businessman named Francisco Sánchez who owns other hotels in the tourist town.
