The defender will head to Camp Nou in the summer regardless of what happens

SPORT revealed weeks ago that it would not be easy for Barcelona to reach an agreement with Toulouse to sign defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

The French club's president was annoyed by Barça's behaviour when negotiating with Todibo, who will join the club in the summer regardless of what now happens this month.

However, Barça would still like to do a deal this month -- even if it's only to then send him on loan. Todibo has not played for the first team at Toulouse since Nov. 3 due to his refusal to renew his deal.

Barcelona are moderately optimistic of movement before the end of the month. Negotiations with Toulouse continue to look for a way to strike a deal which would satisfy all parties. It's hard to believe the Ligue 1 side would let pass the opportunity to bring in some cash for the sake of pride.

What we can confirm is that talks continue and that Barça will do everything they can do to avoid Todibo being forced to train with the youth teams for six months, losing his competitive rhythm.

"I'm impatient to get to Barça," the player told SPORT when we met him in Toulouse.
