Frenkie de Jong arrived at Barcelona in the summer and in his first months at the club his performances have got better and better. In an interview with Algemeen Dagbla, though, he recognises that he can still get better.

The fact the deal was agreed in January was closed before the madness of the summer meant De Jong could have a much more relaxed summer.

"Many things were already done before I got to Barcelona," the midfielder said. "I had learned a little bit of Spanish, but when you arrive at the city there are still a lot of new things."

Now with the Dutch national team, De Jong spoke about Barça's latest win, a 4-0 success over Sevilla: "I don't want to speak about a learning process. Things have gone much better in the last two weeks. I didn't start in great form, playing a little further forward, and of course, you learn from that."

Arriving in Catalonia has also been a huge life change: "In Barcelona, everything is much bigger, (the club) is the centre of the world. You realise when you arrive at another airport and there are thousands of fans waiting for us. I can still walk around the city wearing a hat. I have to take the odd photo, but it's normal."
