Luis Suárez, Rakitic, Arturo Vidal, Semedo, Arthur, Rafinha, Todibo and Wagué left Barcelona during the transfer window as the Catalan club knocked almost €80 million gross off their wage bill (€35m net), according to different estimations.

Suarez earned the most (he has one year left on his deal, plus another option year) and was the third-highest paid player at the club on just over €15m net. Barcelona will pay him €7.5, for the termination of his contract.

Vidal (who joined Inter Milan for €1m euros in variables) was earning €8.6m euros net and has given up the final year of his contract, as has Ivan Rakitic (moved to Sevilla for €1.5m plus €9m in variables), who was on €7.8m net.

SEMEDO & ARTHUR

As for Nelson Semedo (Wolves, €30m plus €10 in variables), his salary was around €4m net and he will not receive any form of payoff, either.

Arthur Melo (sold to Juventus for €72m + €10m in add-ons) was earning €3.1m net and Barcelona won't have to pay a penny of the four years left on his contract. Neither will they have to pay anything to Rafinha, who was on a similar wage, who joined Paris Saint-Germain for free, with Barça due up to €3m in add-ons and a percentage of any future sale.

Meanwhile, Barça also managed to loan out Jean-Clair Todibo (Benfica) and Moussa Wague (PAOK) and in both cases their new clubs will pay the wages.

SIGNINGS

As for signings, Barça brought in Miralem Pjanic (€60m + €5m in variables from Juventus and Sergiño Dest (€21m + €5m in variables from Ajax).

The rest of the signings were made in January: Trincao (€31m, Sporting Braga), Pedri (€5m + €1m, Las Palmas) and Matheus Fernandes (€7m + €3m, Palmeiras). The latter has still not been presented as a Barça player and hasn't played a minute of football under Ronald Koeman.

FFP

In addition, Riqui Puig and Ronald Araujo have been registered with the first team and Philippe Coutinho has returned from his loan with Bayern Munich.

All these operations allow Barça to stay within UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules, which allow European clubs to spend at most on transfers and wages €100m more than their revenue each season.
