Barcelona have made a move to sign Vinicius Jr., a 16-year-old forward who plays for Flamengo. As predicted, he's the star of the Campeonato Sudamericano U-17 in Chile.

Barcelona coaches, including Pep Segura have watched the player closely and realised he has enormous talent and a huge future.

Barça are already in contact with the player's family and agent, to touch base on a move, although it would not happen before July 2018, when he will turn 18.

The Catalan club are very keen to avoid even pushing FIFA's rules close to the line.

There is fierce competition from English clubs. Flamego, aware of his talent, gave him a professional deal at 16 and included a 30 million euros release clause.

Barça feel he's the hottest prospect to come from Brazilian football since Neymar.

At the Campeonato Sudamericano U-17 in Chile he is the the Pichichi with five goals and looks head and shoulders above other players in his age group.
