Football teams have been hugely affected by the coronavirus crisis in economic terms. Not playing games heavily reduces their income and the high salaries of players are causing problems as a result.
Many Ligue 1 clubs have opted for temporary lay-offs, with the French club paying 84 per cent of their players' salary and the state taking care of the rest.

However PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants to do something different, the same as Barcelona, which is agreeing a salary reduction for his players. PSG's salary takes up 50 per cent of their overall budget 371 million for the year, from their 637 million annual salary.
