Don’t go, Andres. Barcelona need you and this game made it more evident than ever.

The veteran playmaker was in delightful form as Barcelona thrashed Sevilla at the Wanda Metropolitano to win the Copa del Rey for the fourth year running.

Iniesta was crucial as Barcelona racked up a big win, scoring himself and helping the game flow in Barca’s favour, while Luis Suarez struck twice, Leo Messi scored and Philippe Coutinho netted from the penalty spot.

Barcelona were in charge from the off, pinning Sevilla back in their area, and broke the deadlock when Jasper Cillessen’s long yet perfect placed kick went all the way through to Coutinho, who set up Suarez to score.

The second game after half-an-hour, with a great move ending when Jordi Alba back heeled the ball for Messi to finish brutally.

And Suarez was on target before half-time, ending his bad luck in Copa del Rey finals, with Barcelona starting a flowing move at the back which ended when Messi played an exquisite ball through to the Uruguayan to finish.

Things got worse for Sevilla after the break, as Barcelona went on to have what Montella described as a “perfect” game, with Messi playing in Iniesta to round the helpless David Soria for goal number four.

Coutinho struck but the goal was ruled out as the referee spotted a handball by Lenglet so Messi let the Brazilian have the chance to score again, which he did with his penalty.

Game over, Barca’s 30th Copa del Rey, their fourth in four seasons. And maybe game over for Iniesta too, but it would be such a shame if he did move to the Chinese Super League.
