Barcelona produced their best performance of preseason as they warmed up for their La Liga opener against Athletic Bilbao by hammering Napoli 4-0 in Michigan on Saturday.

Luis Suarez scored twice and there were also goals for Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele as they won the inaugural La Liga-Serie Cup 5-1 on aggregate following Wednesday's win in Miami.

Ernesto Valverde picked a strong team with only Lionel Messi missing through injury. Suarez, Griezmann and Dembele formed the front three, while there were also starts for Frenkie de Jong and Gerard Pique, among others.

Barca pressed well in the first half and kept possession well but could not find the breakthrough. Griezmann and Suarez came closest, while Fabian Ruiz almost struck on the break at the end of the opening period.

The Catalans were much more clinical after the break, though, and they killed the game off in an electric 15 minute period.

Suarez opened the scoring after linking well with Griezmann and Griezmann then added the second from Jordi Alba's cross. Carles Aleña had brilliantly fed Alba.

Alheña then sent Dembele through, who set up Suarez to score a scorcher from 20 yards, before Dembele himself completed the win after a neat pass from De Jong.

With 65 minutes gone, Valverde finally started to ring the changes and Barça eased up. Rafinha and Philippe Coutinho, making his first appearance of preseason, almost added a fifth, but there were no more goals.
