Alejandro Balde made his Barcelona debut in a friendly against Nastic on Wednesday and then on Thursday put pen to paper on a new contract with the Catalan giants. The left-back has signed on until 2024 with a release clause of 500 million euros.

Balde is touted as a long-term contender to replace Jordi Alba, and could even be the Spaniard’s back-up option this season after Junior Firpo was sold.

Balde’s agent is Jorge Mendes. He was born in 2003 and arrived at Barcelona at eight years old from Espanyol.
