Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann and his links with Barca continue to be a soap opera. Last summer he decided to stay at Atletico instead of coming to Camp Nou and published that decision in a documentary.

Months later the story rumbles on, with Barca able to buy him for 120 million euros in the summer if they want.

However on El Larguero on Cadena Ser radio, Manu Carreno said: “Barca’s squad don’t want Griezmann and the board know it.”

On the same programme Carreno spoke to Carles Rexach, a Barca advisor to the board, who said he wouldn’t sign Griezmann either.

"I said that they should not whistle Griezmann but I wouldn't sign him either,” explained the man who signed Messi for Barca, back in the day.

“He's a player who fits Barca's style but you ask me why, I didn't like the 'I'm going, I'm staying' business and footballing wise, he plays where Messi is.”
