Lautaro Martinez's move to FC Barcelona is still on the right tracks. Inter have recently announced plans to try and tie down their star forward to a new deal but Barça remain calm. They feel this is just to put pressure on the club ahead of negotiations resuming in August. Lautaro has decided he wants to join Barça and Inter know his intentions.

The interest in Lautaro, as well as the player's desire to leave, has caused Inter's form to be irregular since the restart. He's even be forced to come out and promise he will give his all whilst he remains in Milan. Even Antonio Conte has defended Lautaro's performances despite the rumours surrounding his future.

Inter, who have qualified for the Champions League next season, had at one point dreamed of winning Serie A but their recent form has put an end to those hopes. There's also the matter of securing Lautaro's replacement before returning to negotiations with Barça. Although that is proving difficult in a COVID-19 impacted transfer market.

The two clubs have spoken about a player plus cash deal in order for Lautaro to swap clubs. Junior Firpo is of interest to the Italians but Inter are also asking for a lot of money. They value Lautaro at around €111m whereas Barça feel that is way too high and feel €65m is a fair price. Nothing is expected to happen until after the Champions League has concluded.

Interest in Lautaro is high but he's set his sights on Barça, The club has told him he'll be a certain starter at the Camp Nou next season and they value him as one of the best strikers in the world.
