Barça are ready to pay Griezmann's buyout clause in the next 72 hours

The French forward has until Friday to join up with Atletico Madrid should Barça not complete a deal for him before then

FC Barcelona are looking at the best way to pay Antoine Griezmann's buyout clause and end his association with Atletico Madrid. Since the 1st of July, his clause has dropped to €120m. A transfer could be completed between Thursday and Friday of this week.

Due to the high cost of paying the buyout clause, Barça are looking at every available option. Ernesto Valverde will call back his players on the 14th July and Griezmann hopes to be one of them.

Friday is also the day when Griezmann must return to Atletico should an agreement not be in place.

Barça don't want this situation to go on any longer and further disrupt the relationship between the two clubs. For Griezmann, it wouldn't be ideal to wear Atletico's colours again if only for a matter of days.

For this reason Barça are looking to pay Griezmann's buyout clause before the end of this week.

If an amicable agreement can't be reached with Atletico, Griezmann's representative would need to go to the LaLiga headquarters and deposit his client's buyout clause. This would then free up the forward to complete his move to Barça.
