André Gomes is starting to think about his next move after both he and Barcelona decided that he doesn't have a future at the Camp Nou. However, Andre is settled in Spain and he intention is to play in LaLiga next season. For this reason he sees a return to Valencia as the best option available.

Andre wants to enjoy his football again and he believes he could rediscover his best form with Valencia. It's there where he showed the best form of his career to date and soon attracted the interest of both Barcelona and Real Madrid. He has various offers on the table, some from Spanish sides, but the Portuguese midfielder wants a return to Mestalla.

Barcelona are in no rush

After deciding he wants to go back to Valencia, it's now up to the clubs to reach an agreement. That doesn't appear to be an easy task because the two clubs are miles a part in regards to their respective stances. Barcelona want a return on the millions they invested in Andre and Valencia, at the moment, aren't open to a permanent transfer and would instead prefer a loan deal.

After an irregular season, Barcelona had hoped that Andre's value would increase with a good showing at the World Cup in Russia. However Gomes didn't make Portugal's squad for the tournament and this has meant the offers on the table aren't to Barcelona's liking.

The other issue is Gomes' wages. If Barcelona do loan the midfielder out they'd want any willing party to cover his wages. Once again, this isn't something Valencia see as viable. They're willing to cover part of his wages but not all of it. And this is the key to a move going forward: Barcelona either accept that Valencia won't pay the wages in full, or the Mestalla outfit match the terms set out by Barça in order to secure the loan deal.

At the moment Barcelona aren't in any rush to accept a deal they aren't happy with and are hoping that teams will come in with offers to buy Gomes rather than take him on loan. If that isn't the case, and Gomes is to leave on loan, Valencia are the clear favourites for his signature.
